Great news for fans of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers fans that don’t want to spend $250-500 on a show accurate helmet for their cosplay needs. Not so great news for custom creators that charge $250-500 for a custom made helmet.
Did you ever wish you could be a Power Ranger? Yes, that’s a rhetorical question. The closest thing we’ve ever had was those horrendously bad Halloween costumes, but that’s about to change. Bandai is gearing up to launch the first — hopefully of many — show accurate helmets from the Mighty Morphin Power Ranger series. It looks like they’re planning to start off with the Legacy Red Ranger helmet, which is a good idea as they’ll be able to test the waters on just how many people are truly interested in grabbing something like this instead of just banking on the Green & White Ranger’s popularity.
If all goes well then we may end up seeing every Ranger’s helmet release. While I wouldn’t wear one — I’m totally lying — I’d love to line up the team on a shelf for a nerdgasmic display.
Anyone else interested in grabbing something like this for cosplay, collection, or display purposes? These are available now for pre-order for $110 at Big Bad Toy Store which is a lot better than spending $250 or more.
