The more time you spend on-court in the adidas adiZero Crazy Light 2 the better they become.

Traction was on point fresh out of the box and it continues to impress each time they are used. Dust doesn’t really affect these in a negative way, the grooves won’t allow it. Having the pattern target multiple directions on-court is a huge plus as well.

The forefoot and heel feature horizontal grooves that keep you in place even when moving at full speed. From a front to back standpoint these are top notch. At the ball of the foot the pattern spirals out in a circular motion taking care of any medial and lateral movements. It really doesn’t matter what you what to do, where you want to go or how quickly you need to stop… these can keep up with the best of them.

Cushion is awesome… especially for foam. The heel is very soft and almost to a point at which you may feel instability when standing in one spot, however, once you get going it’s such a smooth transition from heel to toe you feel as if your movements are nearly effortless. Everything pretty much slims down once you get to the forefoot and the softness you feel in the heel becomes low profile responsiveness. You still maintain cushion but court feel is definitely apparent and a welcomed feeling, especially if you are a speedy Guard.

If I were to compare the foam to previous adidas models it would have to be a mixture between the Crazy Light 1 & the adiPower Howard 2… its nothing like what was used in the adiZero Rose 2 or 2.5 & I hope they use it on the adiZero Rose 3.

Complete upgrade from the original Crazy Light. Maybe not the greatest on-court shoe available – mostly because of its narrow fit – but if you are in the market for a lightweight sneaker with ample traction & cushion then these may be a perfect fit unless you are a wide footer.

  1. how much thinner is the CL2 in comparison with the CL1???
out of 10 how much would you rate the crazy light 1 and 2???

please write back, it would be very helpful.
I own the crazy light 1 (D.Rose colorway) myself so I am considering the next version as an upgrade, I play a 3/4 kinda like KD

    1. hey if you still have ur CL1 and u can still exchange it go ahead!, its better in every aspect compare to CL1 but unless u wanna own both of them then go buy the CL2

      the lockdown is better
Fit is better but the arch is a lil problem if you have flat feet, but it doesnt bother me at all so its np for me
      the sprint web is stronger!
      the traction last longer!
and the laces is what i like too as an upgrade version, it doesnt tangle as much as the CL1 plus its really easy to fix it unlike CL1
but the ventilation is not as good as the CL1 but i dont see it as a problem,
and the look is much better too, so ofcourse CL2>CL1

      go buy it! 🙂

  2. Hey NW, nice review so far. Can’t wait for the full one. I was also wondering if you’re full review for the Adidas Top Ten 2000 will be coming out soon?

  3. Great info! I’m curious as to how you would compare the cushioning of these shoes versus the cushioning on the Jordan Fly Wade 2 EV? I’m trying to get a new pair of shoes, and its between these two

    Thanks!

    1. They are sort of similar… I was thinking about that while I was playing in them. Similar feeling in the heel and same goes in the forefoot although the Wade is a bit more bouncy in the forefoot than the CL2.

  4. I like the look to this shoe a lot but I have wide feet for my size. Im not getting them for basketball so if I got a half size bigger than what I wear would they fit?
